This gut and brain-friendly strawberry protein smoothie has veggies, flax seeds packed with fiber and omega-3s, and coconut yogurt for both a probiotic and prebiotic kick. If you’re familiar with the gut-brain connection, you know eating fiber as well as both probiotic- and prebiotic-rich foods is not only good for your digestion but also brain health.
In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ve made a delicious, gut-friendly, mood-supporting smoothie. I love this strawberry protein smoothie on its own and as a chaser for the ultimate brain supplement, Lypo-Spheric® Magnesium.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup diced strawberries
- ¼ cup cauliflower rice
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
- ¼ cup unsweetened coconut yogurt
- Protein powder of choice (I recommend vanilla or unsweetened)
- 1–1 ½ cups milk of choice
Directions:
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
